I won't name the player, but during the lockout of 94 - 95, I was drinking beer with one of the locked outs as the season closed in on the minimum 40 games or cancel, fans were getting pretty upset. I said that if Bettman didn't watch it, an angry fan would...get even with him, not in those words exactly though to clean it up here. The guy that I said it to merely repeated it, pointing out that it was a fan that said it, the news picked it up and played it. Next thing you know, he was on a plane to NY to go stand before Bettman's desk and Bettman to explain the threat that he did not make, but got credited for. I got little use for Bettman now, never did, never will. I keep hoping as I watch games and see him in the crowd, a good "misdirected" wound up slapshot, and shattered plexiglass, and... Never happens though.
Congrats to the Kings though. Not my pick, but cold steel on ice is the only sport in the whole world as far as I'm concerned.
