Why does everybody hate teachers so much in Wisconsin right now. None of my kids teachers missed school to protest in Madison but did attend the protests on their own time after school. In regards to kids not being able to read and write what school are you taking your kids to? My kids are doing things in school much earlier than when I was a 1st and 3rd grader a "few" years back. Also in the "new" education system in Wisconsin good teachers can be let go because a bad principal deems they are the one to be cut. In my sons school 2 great teachers were non renewed while other teachers were retained that should have been cut. The principal is clueless and now he can do what he wants. I"m all for teachers paying for a portion of their insurance and pension but a compromise should have been reached on collective bargaining. In my opinion if Walker would have compromised on that the recall would not have happened.
