Anyone that says there could of been a compromise on collective bargaining doesn't understand how collective bargaining works in Wisconsin, had collective bargaining been left in place the employees would of gotten the requirement to pay on their medical insurance and state retirement eliminated as a bargaining issue. We have binding arbitration in Wisconsin if the school board or county board or town/city/village council can't reach a decision the last offer and counter offer go to arbitration the arbitrator must pick one or the other, compromise is not allowed. Notice I say their half of retirement, when the program was originally set up employees were required to pay 1/2 of the amount of their retirement, through the wonders of collective bargaining that went away. As to why we don't like teachers, one of our local school districts was on the brink of insolvency, they had three failed millage referendums and the district was slated for dissolution until it was pointed out any debt left from the old district would be apportioned among the tax payers for retirement of the debt on top of the levy from the school district that would assume the educational responsibilities of the children in that area. The 4th referendum passed. In the all the shuffle the school district had to make some cutbacks and they did. A part time technology teacher was reduced form 60% to 15%. In an unrelated incident about a year later it was discovered the teacher is a pedophile and was having inappropriate relations with a student. The teacher is currently in jail, but guess who is suing the school district trying to collect back wages for the pedophile because they felt it was improper to reduce the teaching position when they didn't have the money to pay for it. One of our local teachers got drunk one night and sent threatening messages to both our state representative and Governor Walker, guess who was arguing that he shouldn't be disciplined? Got the picture.

Today's Featured Article - 12-Volt Conversions for 4-Cylinder Ford 2000 & 4000 Tractors - by Tommy Duvall. After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
