I have in the past, but now I will not use neonicotinoids, it is not proven but I am afraid they are having an affect on honey bees. I use non systemic insecticides (permethrin) I will not use sevin XLR late in the season when the bloom starts. Sevin is very hard on bees.
I do not think I am going to have to worry about any of these things this year. I finished planting today and it is so dry none of what we planted the last two days is going to come up unless it rains. I am seriously considering having a well drilled for next year. Drip irrigation would be nice this year.
