I currently have an Allis B with a Woods belly mower to move 5 hilly acres with 20-30 trees/bushes. 1st gear with the throttle maxed has seemed like the best combo of ground/blade speed. Takes me 4-5 hours to get it done. With sharp blades and tweaking/maintenance on the Woods, it does a nice job of it and has for almost twenty years. Getting to the point where the Allis and the mower deck are going to need an overhaul.
I"ve also got a Massey 202 (Industrial version of a 35) with a back-blade and factory loader for snow, grading the drive, and everything else that comes with an acreage.
I"ve been looking at mid- and front-mount 60-72 zero-turn mowers. The increased forward/straight line mowing speed is very tempting. The zero-turn is nice, but not critical. I've got a pond dam with a face that's just steep enough to make me iffy on a zero turn vice a tractor mower
Just saw a 2006 Kubota B2630 on Craigslist with a backhoe, 72" mid-mower, 63" snowblower, and loader. Diesel, 4x4, power steering, 211 hours.
I"m wondering if I"d be better off selling both my old rigs in exchange for the Kubota package plus a box blade for the drive.
