The diagnosis is not easy, apparently testing for this has never been perfected. I also know that you need a Lyme literate doctor, most GP's don't deal with it, I asked mine several times as I have been nailed many many times by these annoying little pr$cks, thankfully I've never had or strongly believe I have never had any symptoms, bullseye rash etc. I went to the doctor once, say '02 I believe, might have been the first time I had one dig in, they prescribed an antibiotic regimen to knock it out.
The thing I hate about these ticks, is it plays with your mind, is it an infected one, did I miss or not see the rash, or did I not get the rash, LOL ! Then you wonder if that aching joint is that or age, arthritis, doc says for me its the latter, still don't give you peace of mind, as you don't want to let Lyme go undetected, doctors that are specialist in this with what is available do seem hard to find, like I said above, GP's seem to ignore you about it.
The strangest thing is there have been numerous times where I have gotten ticks, and have not been in the woods, tall grass, game trails (deer) brush or thicket, ticks from the heavens LOL ? Darned things !!!!
