It was dry here in Texas last year and I lost most of the trees I planted. Of course I planted them in the spring and it really created allot of work trying to save them.
This year I planted 100 advanced generation loblolly elites, 35 crape myrtles and allot of oaks but I planted them back around news year's eve. Made a big difference planting them dormant and letting the roots get a jump start.
I have about 40 trees in pots under the shade tree that I've decided to wait until the fall to plant after they've all gone dormant.
