Forty miles is a good forenoon ride in Iowa. I just got back from the "Great Eastern Iowa Tractorcade". Monday we drove 75 miles, Tues drove 55, then Wed it was only 30. There was only 530 tractors taking part. Organized in "speed groups"; slowest (10mph or less) was 1st group and working higher to 7th group of 15+. I always wanted to try that and it was really nice. WMT radio has it super organized, with lots of stops for snacks and meals. We never stopped for a stop sign for 3 days; police stopped all traffic as we came thru. Lots of farm families in large groups sitting in lawn chairs waving as we went by. Tractors had to have smv, mirror, tow strap and fire extinguisher. I have a "bimini style" umbrella on my H Farmall and sitting in shade made it real comfy. I entered the 3rd group and I enjoyed cruising at about 1/2 throttle most of the time. At age 75 that first day was a bit too long, but I enjoyed the whole ride so much I think I"ll apply to ride again next year. With all the food stops I have it figured out we averaged 200 calories per mile!

I got the tractor so stuck that the underside of the tractor was resting on the ground. My uncle wanted
