Irrigation water comes out of the Arkansas River. Our senior rights are the year 1875. But Rocky Ford, CO rights are 1874, and others are as old as 1860. So Rocky Ford is very dry, and they have called for the river water.So we have to stop pulling water out of the river. Until we get rain or they dump more from the lakes above us. The Arkansas River is running about 300 cfs. Should be up around 500 cfs. there are 23 farms on our ditch and we are lotted 16 cfs. (Cubic Feet per Second). Normally 1.4 cfs will water 50 acres.
