I"ve been watering the new trees from the cistern. I didn"t have any fear of running it dry as it hasn"t ever run dry since it was dug in 1936. It"s one of the biggest around here.
The news says this is the second driest year since they started keeping track here in 1911. I really don"t want to tax the old cistern too much and be the first one to ever run her dry.
