We've used the 134a before, and all the reviews are positive. It just saves us time and money having to drive to the border of Mn to pick up some of it to keep the system up to peak charging. Unlike the old R-12 or R-24 this newer stuff seems to lose it's potency after awhile. No leaks in our system, had them checked, just looses some pressure from sitting all winter without being used until a hot summer rolls around.
The question really was, does anyone know why it suddenly became legal to obtain in Wisconsin??

To me there is a great deal of BS involved in ozone depletion, especially when coal fired water treatment plants, smelters are still spewing smoke,as with Louisiana Pacific, pumping tons of crap into the atmosphere, not to mention the diesel trucks putting smog into the atmosphere, causing more than what us peons could do in a lifetime, using r-12 and R134a refrigerant, could ever do. If we can do the job charging our air conditioning system in our vehicles, why not. Saves a ton of money, and phoney repair bills ie" you have a bad compressor, plugged expansion valve, hole in evaporator coil, etc etc etc, all this will cost you $2000.00 in parts alone, our shop rate is an extra $100.00 per hr." Spend your money with us,rather than spending $15.00 per can for the refrigerant. and they offer no warranty, because it is a old system, but thats another story.
.

We have an old IH freezer that has the old r-12 in it, never been opened or charged since new, still freezes food solid.
Most of the problems come from the compressor, internal valve seizure and oil leaks voltage spikes motor in the compressor(refrig/freezer/home ac motors -capacitor).A person would have to be a fool, not to recharge his auto ac, with the weather we're having. I'm not sure that this product Arctic Freeze synthetic, has denatured alcohol to remove moisture, but anyway it works. As long as our ac system hasn't been opened, it should be fine.JMHO.

Today's Featured Article - Antique Tractors a Passing Fad? - by Tractor Talk Forum Participants. A Talk of the Town article - Do you see antique tractors going out like a fad? Value has come down this winter. An example is the Ford Model A and T cars that went through this in years ago, along with the hit & miss engine. Will the younger generation move on to something else? Will it be harder to sell them and what models will be affected? Could we see the value crash on our rusty relics? ... [Read Article]
