Hey all, been working on my boat now for some time, finally decided to find another out board motor for it, found one that runs like a top, few years older than what I have, Mine is a 1976 75 horse johnson, mechanical shift, the one i found is a 1971 60 horse according to the data tag on the transom mount, only thing different is its electronically shifted, I got the whole boat for nothing for the motor, so i have the controls and all, only problem with it is that it is stuck in forward gear, took a closer look at it tonight and noticed there is a crack in the lower unit, which in turn dropped all of the lower unit grease, question is can the crack be sealed up some how with jb weld or something and hold up, its cracked all the way around the front of the lower unit...thinking if i can get it sealed up and filled up with grease and see if it will shift...I didnt run it but for what little bit i ran it on the ears to see if it would run..and in turn will it hld up to the pressure while running it on the lake with jb weld? Thanks for any and all help..Bob
