I had allergy tests about 35 years ago and found I had quite a few. But the worst food allergy I had was to peanuts...and I had been eating a 2 pound jar of peanut butter a month. It had been so easy to fix a PBJ sandwich when I didn"t feel good, and that was exactly the wrong thing for me to do.
I quit eating peanuts in any form and felt better. I have heard that sometimes allergies can go away after a long time, but I think I am still allergic to peanuts, since sometimes I get all stuffed up after eating fried foods. I suspect that those foods are fried in peanut oil.
Some allergies are very unpredictable. Sometimes they can have much more serious symptoms suddenly. While Benedryl is usually effective in reducing symptoms, with a really bad reaction, having and using an epi-pen can be a lifesaver. My wife is deathly allergic to bee or wasp stings, so she carries an epi-pen in her purse at all times. We only ever had to use an epi-pen once, but it might have saved her life. It got us time to get her to the ER.
Good luck with your allergies. Avoiding peanuts is usually pretty possible. I still love the odor of peanut butter, but I never taste it. And if I decide there are peanuts in something I have taken a bite of, I spit out that bite. Works OK for me.
