Just got done helping a buddy change the clutch and pressure plate in his '02 3500 Chevy dump truck. The old clutch was bad, fristion gone from the disc, the clutch fork and pivot ball were both in really bad shape, etc, etc. In other words everything was put back new. New pilot (needle bearing style), clutch, pressure plate, pivot ball, clutch fork, throwout bearing, clutch master and slave cylinder, etc, etc. Everything is new. Got finished with it this evening just after dark and started it up.
Now the problem. The clutch will not disengage. We've bled the slave cylinder until no air is coming out, I can look through the port in the flywheel housing and see the slave cylinder moving the end of the clutch fork between 1 and 1 1/2 inches. The clutch peddle is a bit loose right at the top but gets tight about an inch down, the clutch disc is in the right way (can't go but one way, everything slid together as smooth as silk when reassembling, with no problems to indicate anything was binding, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc. In other words everything is new, and we can see no problems that would cause it not to disengage.
So, my question. Has anyone done one of these trucks and had this problem when done? I've done alot of clutches in my life and have never seen one act like this so any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Wayne

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
