I would also say go with the Farmall A. Is the cub you are talking about the low-boy type, White and yellow in color? Or the old Red ones from the 50's? The old red ones are only 9 HP, the low-boys are 14hp I think. The old red ones are not worth the $ 2,500 price tag. (Cant understand this) Only a restored A is worth $ 2,500.
