My long time JD dealer, a Mom and Pop operation of 30+ years, chose to sell out to a big chain JD dealer. Seams mother deere told him to upgrade his computers systems, increase parts inventory with parts he knew would not sell quickly, and a sales quota on top of that. Not meeting the quota could mean losing his franchise. To compound the issue, subdivisions are now where the rice fields used to be so his real ag equipment sales have been dwindling. At the end of the day he decided the economics of what mother was requiring wouldn't work.
New dealer now caters to the mini ranchers, homeowners, and landscapers. They sell lawnmowers, weed eaters and "tractor packages". New staff is young, dumb and doesn't care.
I now use "mother deere" with a derogatory tone and won't buy from her ever again.
