Back in the mid 70's I had a Irish setter female and she went everywhere with me. I was visiting a couple of young ladies in Mexico Missouri and let my dog run loose outside as the young ladies had a house full (two)cats that never went outside. I got to wondering about my dog and went outside to look for her. As I rounded the back of the house, I looked across at the neighbors back yard and there was a large house cat on a chain, backing up and putting some slack in the chain. I saw what I thought was the cat luring my dog into the ark of that chain so it could attack my dog. I called my dog back and am still convinced that the cat would have hurt my dog.
