At some point, the buyers are going to walk away & prices will drop. How much they roller coaster up & down between then & now is any guess.
Someday, the govt may step in and say it's an election year, we need cheap food, and crash the markets to 'do something' about it. Embargo or kill ethanol. Then one would be thankful to have a few contracts for today's price.
I'm ion the same boat as you, Dave. Same situation, same questions.
My bigger concern is 2013 crop. The prices out that far look pretty good?????
In my part of the country, even a 'total crop failure' means a 33% crop to harvest, so the risk in doing a small amount of contracting isn't too steep.
