I think you are thinking of semi trailers, they use a seperate system from the truck. Trailers usually have 4 or more lights on the back where tractors and strait trucks usually have just 2. With one bulb on each side it will flash with the 4ways until you hit the brakes then they come on steady. On tractor trailers the trailer uses a seperate syestem with seperate fuses for the trailer. It would take a fair amount of work to add the extra lights and seperate them unless the truck is prewired for a trailer, them you could use the trailer system.
