J I'm in Abbeville Co. I've been toying with the idea of trying my hand at some small scale growing; would want to start at less than 100 acres, but most likely would never be over that. Current occupation has worn my back out and I need to consider another line of work. (Like farming would be a whole lot better for my back!! Ha!) The NH dealer in my area that I deal with has been real good on parts for my 5000 and has a good service dept.; Deere support on the other hand has been poor at best unless I drive 100mi round trip to Newberry or Ridge Spring where there are good dealers, (both stores under the same ownership) Might be hard to make a decent living some years with a small operation, but I'm getting to the point of really needing to change my career. Today's Featured Article - Product Review: Black Tire Paint - by Staff. I have been fortunate in that two of my tractors have had rear tires that were in great shape when I bought the tractor. My model "H" even had the old style fronts with plenty of tread. My "L" fronts were mismatched Sears Guardsman snow tires, which I promptly tossed.
