I've never run a baler on anything but a Massey, Ran a 65 with a 268 NH and a 180 on a 336 JD and later the same 180 on a 504C Vermeer before moving up to an 1105 with a cab. I thought I was in heaven the first year, then we got a 504F and that was better with the open throat and hydraulic tie on the 1105. I'm now running an 1135 on a 554XL, I like a bigger tractor with extra weight and power on the baler. As to you original question square baling the 180 was a good tractor except for changing speed as windrows change, same issues today with the 1135.
