I would say that it would have to be 30+. I remember when they went broke, I just don't remember the year. I believe they quit selling their own brand of tires long before they went broke though. Their headquarters was in Ft.Worth Tx. I live about 60 mi from there. I remember several interesting things about Montgomery Ward. One thing during World War II, The President received a draft notice and refused to go. He thought that he was too important. There was a picture in the newspaper of the Army MPs dragging him out of his office. In the spring of 49 there was a flood and water got up in the second story of their main building. I believe it was that same year, they had big plate glass show windows around the first floor where they displayed a lot of merchandise. They always had Christmas decorations in the windows which included life sized reindeer and sleigh. The marketing director put a red flashing light on the nose of the lead reindeer and Rudolph was born. The first Radio Shack store was across the street from the main MW building. Back to tires, my dad would not buy any other kind. I bought a cement mixer from them on sale way back for $49.95. I now have a hydraulic motor and a skid steer attachment on it and use it on the front of my tractor. Lots of things change.
