Several questions first, do you have a Major or Power Major or Super Major. (The Super Major had disc brakes, Majors and Power Majors had drum brakes.) As for the engine problem, I would guess that blue smoke does indicate a little oil getting past the rings. Black smoke is not a real problem but white/grey smoke could be several problems. I'll have to refer to some references at home and I'll forward the intake and exhaust valve clearances. (Keep in mind the Dagenham 220 cid diesel engine has valve clearances opposite of most engines, the exhaust valve is set closer than the intake valve. Have you had the injection pump off? You may wish to check the injection pump timing. Again, I'll have to refer to a service manual to give the exact detail and steps. Do you have access to an I&T manual (Intertec)? E-mail me direct if you need some help. : HOW TO FIX BRAKES TO WORK PROPERLY AND TO LOCK ON AND HOLD PLUS GIVE US SOME IMFORMATION ABOUT WHAT I SHOULD DO AFTER A TOP END REBUILD eg HOW TO SET THE VALVE CLEARANCES.THE ENGINE IS ALSO PRODUCING BLACKY GREY SMOKE WHEN DRIVING UP HILLS WITH LITTLE LOAD APPLIED AND IT PRODUCES BLUE SMOKE AT IDLE IS IT AN INJECTOR PROBLEM OR PUMP PROBLEM OR A SIMPLE TASK OF REPLACING THE PISTON AND RINGS THANKYOU
