I noticed you used a hand held weed eater to clear around your pond. I have tried for years to find something that I can use for that task and the HHWE is the only thing that will really work. But it is a lot of work and I'm not up to it any more so I just let the cows have it.
Down here we have several names for such a body of water: pond, pool, and tank are the main ones. Pool is the common term up here in N. TX. where the other two are used in central and the south.
Being from such, when I first moved up here I hired an excavator to clean out my "pond". He kept talking about pool this and pool that and I finally asked him just what was he talking about.....he wasn't digging me a "swimming pool".....well yes and no. The kids did swim in it before the turtles and snakes took over.
