Doesn't appear that Dave has a problem with the guy making money, just the way the guy did things. I mean seriously, the guy placed an add to sell an item for $50 and Dave called. The guy "intended" to seel said item for $50 but said he would not ship it so no sale. The price was not the issue, just the act of shipping. Fast Forward and Dave sees an add where someone is looking for the same radiator he called about. The same guy who had the radiator that Dave calls about now takes it upon himself to contact that individual and offer the part up for sale at three times what HE had been asking for it, and this time HE OFFERS to ship it.
Granted it's the sellers right to do what he wants to do, there's no question there. Thing is tell us, how would you feel if YOU had been the one to call, looking for a part you really needed, offered what the man was asking without question, and then was told that the seller refused to ship the part to you when you asked. Then find out a week or so later that the seller contacted someone else and sold "your" part for three times as much and offered to ship it?
It's not about price or profit, it's about someone just not acting right, ethically, whatever. Call it what you will, if I was in the same boat I know I'd be pi$$ed too. In fact BTDT. Had a man with a machine that I had a standing offer to buy for several years. Went by his place one day to work on another machine for him and noticed the one I wanted was gone. When asked where it was I was told it was sold several months before to someone else who had stopped and asked about it. Seems my standing offer of several years meant less to the man than an offer for less from someone that just stopped and saw it meant......His right, his choice, but that way of thinking still doesn't make good sense to me.............
