Basicly the same as for hybrid corn, the seed you buy would be like the hybrid seed corn you buy that if you tried to plant that crop it would not make anything. Takes the correct parentage. And no I do not think you have to have a seeded type planter for polination. Have Amish friends that are planting the seedles varieties for the local produce auction that has an auction once or twice a week and that is were the restrants and grocers buy the produce they serve or put on the shelf for sale.
