I applied for disability last year due to my disease, (Multipul Endorcrin Neoplasa, a geneticly uncurable disease.) after I had three major surgries last year lasting 6+ hours each. Had 15 inches of intestine removed, torn esophgus repaired and then re-attched to the stomach in two seperate surgries.I now have a tumor in my kidney that needs to be removed also. I am going to be 61 in October and the Disability people said I may as well wait until I am 62 and draw my Social Security, (if I live that long). It is a long process to apply for disability and you usually get turned down the first time. My paper work is still being looked at and will be for awhile I am sure. I would like to go back to work,.. but after loosing 45 lb. and being darn near cut in half by the surgeons,I figure I am lucky to be alive at this point. Why some people get disability that don't seem to need it and others don't,..I haven't figured that one out yet. I doubt I will qualify before I turn 62,..so I will just wait. I get a pension from my first job that does help alot,so if I don't get anything, I will make due with what I have as usual.
