I had almost the same thing tried on me years ago with 2 used tractor tires. left at a tire shop for sale. They must have stopped and got the numbers off of them, then tried to scam the dealer into giving them to them. I had bought the tires with a tractor many years before and had no proof. We just waited them out. A tough one to handle. Glad the dealer trusted me. I think I would just make a date with them and have the police waiting.
