I didn't think so. The GOP couldn't field a credible candidate, so she won by default. Which is pretty much what happened in reverse in 2010 when Snyder ran against Nobody and won. (It did cost him a few million dollars of his own money to defeat Nobody, but I guess it was money well-spent.)
And in between those two elections, Granholm was re-elected, running against billionaire Rich DeVos. Her election was decided by the hundreds of thousands of voters who had at some time or another been suckered into going to an Amway meeting.
