Back in the 90's our neighbors ran about 200 milk cows and fed steers. They had about 2000 acres of farmland and still had the idea you needed to feed the whole crop to something. I was 16 years old when they went to 2 Hesston field queens. 2 choppers, 5 or 6 wagons depending on how many people were around. 2 blowers. One on the upright and one on the pit. The 8 uprights always got filled. Usually the 856 was hooked on the upright blower. They would wind it up in the morning and the thing would run full throttle all day.
My young eyes stared in total amazement. I was used to a 1 row chopper with one wagon that dumped into a long hopper blower. 8 loads a day was a long day.
