Mark, don't know about that towing thing. When my SIL was still on the farm before he married my daughter he towed loaded grain wagons for his dad with a 92 F150, auto, 302 with no problems except ripping the rear bumper off with about 250 bushels of high moisture corn in a gravity box. And I'm not a fan of the 302. It's OK but it's really a car engine. Once you've had a diesel or a big block nothing compares. I had a 77 F250 with a 460 and an 88 F250 6.9. Ain't no substitute for CI.
