I do agree that you have to have the right attitude and energy to want something, anything to succeed. But as far as starting out with zero skills or clues: Where do you suggest someone would/could get the sills from? Unless you grew up on a farm or farming in the family, vo-tech, college, are the only options. Perfect options, not at all. But better than having set up or experienced farmers/ ranchers poke fun at you. Case in point: I am 43 and own ~80 acres in grass. If I would not have patient and helpful farming friends and neighbors, I would be 100% clueless ( now only 80%, ...lol)I have and will ask many, and sometimes stupid questions only a city person could come up with. People sometimes roll their eyes behind my back, but I generally get some answers and I am learning. Until someone gifts me hundreds of acres and sticks a million $ into my bank account, I go to auctions and piece my equipment needs together and tell my wife not to give up her teaching job, promising that I won't give up my local government job either...until....
