With as much time as I spend on the road, a lot on the Interstate, I keep a CB radio in my car. There's not the chatter there used to be, but it's handy for checking road conditions, or if everyone slows down it's nice to be able to pick up a mike and see what's going on.
Lately, though, if I call for a radio check, nobody answers. Receiver works fine. Could it be my transmitter acting up?
I checked my antenna with a SWR meter, and it balances at 0. Instructions with the meter say anything under 2.0 is fine, but it doesn't say anything about balancing at 0.
I tried a different CB unit with same results. I wonder if I have a problem, or if I just happen to call for a radio check at a time when no one feels like answering.
It's not like the old days when you called for a radio check and a dozen guys said, "I've got mine".
