One summer I planted turnips on the half acre garden close to the house, very few of them came up. When fall time came I was crossing my neighbors property, there were hundreds of turnips growing in the leaves. Pointed them out to my neighbor, we had boiled turnips for weeks! I guess the seeds I planted must have floated away, the field drains into a pipe, thru the leaves heading to a small wetland. Then the next year we had a huge feral goat show up when we harvested the turnips. Would show up and want the tops we were not going to use. If we were late with the scraps he would charge the house and run into the wall. One day I walked past him - a mistake - when he was waiting to be fed. He hooked my boot in his horn and upended me. Hit my head on the step and wrestled him for a few minutes.... finally got inside. A few weeks later a relative was talking about a farm 5 miles away had lost a large crazy goat. We sent him home.
