In the last 10 years, I've had about 20 projects that needed done on my house and property. This included roofing, siding, foundation work and interior/exterior carpentry. My attitude is that I pay on time and I let them do their job without me looking over their shoulder. I couldn't get anybody to do it, so I just learned how to do it and I did it all myself. I actually did manage to get a crew at my house, but before they started, I gave them one condition. That condition was that when they started, they would stay at my site until they were done. No starting it and then working somewhere else and come back to finish my job later. They agreed. When they came to work on my project and then left before they were finished, I wouldn't let them back on my place. They hung their heads and knew exactly why they couldn't come back. What ever I need to get something done, I now do it myself. That way it gets worked on and I know it's done right.
