I raced from '88 to '98, then came back to race in '02 when I turned 30 to race the "old guys" in the vet classes. Still ride and raced twice this year, just to see how I still stacked up with others. One thing racing did was keep me out of trouble. I had to get up at 4AM to go to the races, so when my friends were out getting in trouble I was in bed sleeping or prepping my bikes. I'm glad I experienced it, but if I had kids I don't think I would want them to participate in the sport (ride but not race would be ok).
