That could be, and it happens for a wide variety of reasons, some terrible. But as someone mentioned, maybe, hopefully they took him to the pound. Around me, coyotes don't typically come out or around in broad daylight. They be more naucturnal.
I hope you get him back. We had to put our golden, Macy, down a couple of months ago. She was a car/truck rider. If she were out and someone stopped to open the door, up for a ride she would go, best intentions. We found out when our neighbor, Dan, opened the door to his pickup and showed us. After that, we kept an eye on her. She didn't know no better. To her, the world and everyone in it was innocent and good. I sure do miss that girl. She adopted me, and I let her, bless her soul.
