: I want a little tractor for working in my garden (it's pretty big as gardens go) and have a chance to buy either an Allis-Chalmers G or a Farmall Cub, both with one row cultivators. Which one is better? With the G, it looks like you'll have a really good view of the row you're cultivating and it has new tires. They're both the same horsepower, so that's not an issue. What's a good price for each? If the two are similar in price, I'd go for the G. They are great collectibles and people who use them really like them. I know of a seed corn farm that uses them exclusively. I say this with all due respect to the Farmall crowd. In fact, that's what we farmed with. I think the rarity of the G commands a high price. I've seen basket cases quickly snapped up at $500. There are lots of implement possibilities thanks to that "open" space.
