Mike, Here in Texas,, Heat is the #1 killer of most trannies! 2nd is dirty oil / stopped up filters. Here most of us will cut the tranny loose from the radiator cooler, in favor of a stand alone cooler in front of the radiator! Most especially on older G.Ms. Suburbans and Pickups. I would check Dodges specs on tranny maintenance. and do accordingly. At 71K, the truck is just past being broke in, IMO Take it to Dodge and see what they say and do it. Hop[e this helps.
