Fred Fandrei developed Sea Foam for the outboard motor & marine use in the 1930's. He worked for Sinclair Refineing Company at the time. His first test marking was at Lake Freeman in Indiana. Sea Foam was tested by Evinrude Outboard Motor Company & Martin Motor and endorsed by both companies. Sea Foam was trade marked in 1942.Fred sold the company to his son Philip in 1981 and he ran it until 1991 at which time it was sold to Auto Mark. The new oweners changed their name to Sea Foam Sales Company.
