Had a strong running 880 diesel and a 14' disc- I'd bury that sucker, just to hear the motor snort. Wish I still had it.
Neighbor and I had land side by side that we were both working up for the first time in many years. It had a hill in the middle, and he couldn't pull his disc up the hill with his JD 2020, so was going to borrow a Cat from a friend so he could finish his discing.
He came over every night after his town job, and I knew about what time. So I positioned myself with the 880 and disc, and when I saw him coming down the road, I got underway, so that I was pulling the hill just as he was coming up the driveway. Told him "We don't need no stinkin' Cat- you can borrow this old Olliver." That pretty much put an end to the color wars. He did say, after finishing his discing, "You know, that 6 cylinder could be habit-forming."
