dad got caught in the same situation when grandad died, wound up paying about twice the price to his sisters, and his brothers heirs to keep the farm intact.he left the same place to us kids as a trust, and so far its worked out ok. but I can see where problems could happen down the line as one or the other wants to sell out. wife and i got sort of the same thing when her grandad died. was supposed to divide up his place and sell it off.she never was close to him since him and her grandmother had divorced probably 30 years before she was born. in fact we had been married 25 years before i ever even met the old fellow. he had one son who had lived on the place all his life and worked it.could have made a pretty good chunck of change selling it,but we took about 1/5 of its true worth from the boy because i didnt think it was right to move him off.and two of her three sisters went along. the other put hers up for sale and he bought it at auction and she made much more actual money, but i can look the fellow in the eye and am on good terms with her clan. the other sister alienated a whole branch of her own family. to me ,how this stuff works or wheather it works or not depends entirely on the family. sadly, most of the time it results in hard feelings.

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
