Dave I just bought a weird bearing for an old washing machine. Cost was $8 plus $3 shipping. I kept track of all the emails and such. Between Ebay and the seller there are NINE emails in my account for this $11 transaction.
I have not even got the bearing yet but three of the emails are from the seller asking me to fill out the feedback form. How the heck do I know if the item is what they said it was I don't even have it yet!!!!
I buy little on Ebay. I think I am at 45 items in the 6-7 years I have been using it. I have sold three items on there but will sell ZERO in the future. The way Ebay handles the whole Paypal thing is a joke.
I sold a JD "B" as a parts tractor. I posted photos and a list of the good parts and what was not there. A guy from the Quad-cities bought it. He wanted to use Paypal. I usually just tell them to pay me when they pickup the item on something like this. I tried being a nice guy and let him pay me with Paypal. NEVER AGAIN!!! He took the tractor. Paypal put the money into my bank account. I thought deal done. NO so fast. The buyer told Ebay that I had shorted him on the delivered item. WHAT the heck??? HE PICKED up the item here. He could have refused it then and there. Paypal/Ebay took the money out of my account. No notice to me or anything. Just zap the money was gone. I contact Ebay. They tell me the issue is between the buyer and I. They are not involved. So I had a clown with the parts tractor and zero money.
Luckily I had his address. I went to the county he lived in and contacted the local sheriff. He sent a deputy out with me to the guys place. I gave him the choice to pay me the cost of the item and fuel money for me coming down to get paid or give the tractor back. He paid me and acted all surprised that there was any problem.
So I am not real favorable of Ebay since then. Their system is too easy to crook if you really wanted too.

In the summer of 1995, my father, Russ Goodwin, and I acquired the 1945 Farmall B that my grandfather used as an overseer on a farm in Waynesboro, Georgia. After my grandfather’s death in 1955, J.P. Rollins, son of the landowner, used the tractor. In the winter 1985, while in his possession the engine block cracked and was unrepairable. He had told my father
