You will need to change the governor to "single weight variable speed" for best results in a tractor ( if the engine came out of a truck it will be a dual weight limiting speed, not the best suited for various throttle settings in a tractor). The governor will have a tag stamped 'S.W.V.S.'or 'D.W.L.S.' Some off-road vehicles like scrapers had the dual weight governor, but they were intended to be run wide-open all the time. Install the engine and change the governor later, if necessary. I recommend two large oval shaped mufflers. That way you can enjoy the sound of the engine. With the engine sitting on the floor, now would be a good time to pull the blower and put gaskets under it.
