you will need new bolts. Those engines are a lot more likely to have an intake gasket leaking coolant than head gaskets. Ford went with the multi layer steel gaskets for head gaskets during 96 model year and those rarely blow. Also check the front timing cover, if it has not been changed those gaskets were bad for leaking both internally and externally.
