Here are a couple pictures of the side mounting frames that I welded to the front weight brackets years ago to help strengthen the frame and then I added a crossmember underneath connecting the two brackets together under the engine oilpan, then I added a crossmember across the top of the loader above the hood and took all of the wobble and side to side twist out of it. The reason I did that was because I"ve worked on a couple of 4020"s in the past with the same frame brackets with no support going forward and they had broken the frames and stuck the fan thru the radiator, along with some other damage. Welding the bracket and the frame together probably did put extra pressure on the engine on the backside of the frame, so instead of the frame breaking, I broke the block. This time when I put it back together I"m going to run the framework all the way back to the rearend so I don"t have this happen again. Someone mentioned maybe I did not have it torqed right, but the last time I had it apart was in 1990 for the clutch, so I do not think that was the problem. After I broke this tractor I went to John Deere to see about buying a new John Deere 740 loader for the 4455 tractor. Like JDseller said, they don"t make a big loader anymore.
