Uggg - reminds of way back - living with a couple of friends.
The three of us worked together, and spent a lot of time working around the country.
We got home from being on the road for over a week - I decided to grab something to eat, and pour a glass of milk.
I had forgetten there was a thanksgiving turkey left in the refrigerator...
Now - you all know how nasty an old turkey smells in the fridge - let me tell you it's a lot worse when the fridge hasn't been opened in a week to circulate the air.
I figured the milk would be a little sour, but thought'd still be drinkable. SO I grabbed it quick and slammed the door on that smell.
I filled a big glass up.
Took a BIG ol gulp of the milk and immediately spit it all out (mostly in the sink) nearly puked my brains out.
That milk (in a cardboard container) had absorbed all that rotten odor. Like - to the point of full saturation.
It was like drinking pureed rotten turkey.
I still gag thinking about it - I'm gagging now.
Last time I bought milk in a cardboard container. Can't even look at them.

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
