I got three ticks on me this last Saturday while out hunting and didn't find the little suckers until late that night. Two were attached well but not blown up yet and one wasn't attached. Think I might have had a fourth on my neck and it might have got knocked off by my collar cause I had a sore spot on my neck and after picking at it got what seemed like a possible head of a tick out.
The first one I found was on the inside of my arm by my elbow. It was in sight and I bumped it or something to where it caught my attention and when I saw it I thought... oh crap. So I went to a big mirror and started looking my wonderful self over. (humor... fifty years old with a good beer gut...) That's when I found one up on the back of my shoulder that was also attached. Plucked it and dug around for a bit then right between my shoulder blades saw another and it was apparently just cruising around deciding ona spot to sink in?
The little things are tough too. You have to get a fingernail to fingernail pinch on them to snap the little sons a guns.
Got one last year hunting on my belt line. Called the Dr's office a day or two later after some prodding from others at work. They gave me a prescription for anti-biotics as a just in case thing and never bothered testing for the Lyme's disease.
Was going to call again for these ticks but thought maybe I'd just wait and see how the spots look after a few days. Well the one I can see easy isn't really a bulls eye per say but it did change. Started out sore and red dot size of a pencil eraser. Yesterday it changed to where the inside of the circle is more flesh colored and the outer edge still dark red. Today it's about the same.
After reading this thread and watching the clip on another thread called Lyme's II... I've decided it'd probably be best to give the pill pushers a call and possibly prevent a lot of problems. Think I'll ask 'em about testing my blood this time.
Oh and Bill... I know what you mean about feeling every and little thing on your skin lately. Every time a hair moves on my head (what little of it that's left) or anything twitches at all, I have to feel and make sure it isn't a tick.
