Spent a good share of the morning drafting a fairly complicated Will for a woman I've known since we were kids. She's about 75, and used to relief milk for us before I was in school. She's on her 4th husband- one divorce many years ago, then she outlived 2. Complications arise from her being attached to various step-children she's acquired over the years, and not wanting to stiff anybody(no pun intended).
Then a very icy deed signing, by a disappointed heir- property has been up for sale for 5 years, started out priced way too high, then came the real estate crash. They finally found a buyer, but she's getting 10 grand, originally hoped for 50. Don't know why its my fault, but I just got it over with as soon as possible and let her go on her sour way.
Then started a probate of a Will I wrote about 15 years ago. In case you've ever wondered why many Wills have those heavy, usually blue covers, there are two reasons- Makes it look important, and much less likely to be thrown away by mistake when heirs are going through the decedent's papers, and its a place for the lawyer to put his name, address and phone number, so when heirs find it, guess who they call? Never stop selling, as they say in retail. . .

But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
