The Firestone union in Salinas, Ca wanted some huge wage increase and said that they would go on strike if they didn't get. The company said you got two choices take what we offer or the plant goes to Mexico. They were twice as much as anyone else at the time. Well the union went on strike and the plant to Mexico. There are times that one must stop and think about what is the best for the worker. My friend worked at Schilling the union want to strike for a few pennies the company offered a 50 cent raise if they dropped the union. Next day no union. Workers got more per hour and didn't have to pay union dues. Walt
